i would appreciate a translation for this enlistment document. Google translates it as:
"6* infantry n*660 reformed in special show for deformities in the joint of the left elbow."

I think the word "riformato" in this document refers to a military discharge or that he was declared unfit after an inspection determined he had deformities in the joint of the left elbow.

am i correct in assuming that during a medical exam at the time of enlistment, he was discharged...as opposed to serving in the military then being discharged.

My understanding is that, after the required medical exam(s), he was deemed unfit for military service due to his deformity. So he was rejected for medical reasons, and thus excused from the required military service, but I'm not sure if he was then technically "discharged," since he was never deemed fit to serve in the first place.
