This one is very difficult to read accurately... :?
But I believe it is a notation of an act of the Tribunale that the father's name should be Mariano Vitale instead of Vitale DiVito; and mother's name should be Giovanna Raimo instead of Carmina Raimo...

Hopefully, we will get a second set of eyes on this one!

I am finding the wording of the Italian confusing too. I believe this judgment was dated June 25, 1897 in the tribunal of Avellino. I agree with the mother being Giovanna Raimo and not Carmina Raimo. I am thinking the surname should be Mariano because of the last part of the notation which is... per conseguenza Rosina Mariano invece di Rosina De Vito. Mariano is a surname in Avellino Province.

thank you both for your thoughts on this. that handwriting is such as challenge!

i have actually solved the confusion just this morning by discovering the marriage acts of the parents (giovanna raimo & mariano vitale) and rosina's 1897 marriage.

on the 1897 marriage act, rosina's name is written as Rosina Mariano, with her father's first name as Vitale - his names were reversed.

so, it appears that at the time of her marriage, the birth act was corrected.

thanks again.
