Paul Lago Mersino
Re: Paul Lago Mersino
Did a search at lunch today:
https://familysearch.org/ark:/61903/3:1 ... at=1911346
On the index there is another lagomarsino record #100 on that year and it isn't in the book!!
https://familysearch.org/ark:/61903/3:1 ... at=1911346
It is the correct name too, isn't it?
Morti, 1873 is completed now. Appears that 1873 and on includes an index on the last pages... That could speed things up a LOT.
Have to go back to work now, be back soon.

Re: Paul Lago Mersino
abt the your find https://familysearch.org/ark:/61903/3:1 ... at=1911346 Luigia Lagomarsino 16 old, born and resident in Borzone, daughter of Giovanni Lagomarsino (son of late Giambattista) and of Marianna Podestà...
The Lagomarsinos was in Borzone, and Giambattista Lagomarsino-married at Maddalena Brizzolara- had 1 son for sure: Giovanni Lagomarsino married at Marianna Podestà. at part Maddalena maiden name, seeming match many data...

Re: Paul Lago Mersino
I'll check more tonight. I don't know how much longer they would have lived... If they were 25 when Paolo was born they would be mid 80s by now... I'm thinking they died prior to 1867, but I wanna look a few more years.suanj wrote:1875 deaths: ended.
Borzone is looking better and better based on this...
I have someone who lives in Italy who is willing to call the Abbey and ask if they keep records from early 1800 baptisms there. Also how to go about requesting a search. I think I'm going to ask him to do it...

We can stop.. because I believe that Giambattista Lagomarsino and Maddalena Brizzolara both of Borzone could be the parents of your Paul.. matching enough:James wrote:1877 deaths: ended by index.

if you have someone that can call in Abbey, I believe that we are on right trace.. the baptism record must be searched on 1817 abt but I believe that to se4arch until 1829 could be helpful also..

Now that we are fairly certain what commune they would have been from... Can we go to another place besides the archives we emailed? Or would records most likely be still held at the individual parrish where the baptism took place?
Someone told me they will call and inquire if they have records from early 1800s at the Abbey. Let us hope.

Re: Paul Lago Mersino
Hi James,
we have no more options.. we can not search more... we cannot search in militasry records in Genova archive.. and so remain just to contact the Abbey; we cannot search in military records in Genova archive..
and so to remain just another option: to contact the Abbey... I believe the in the Abbey are church records, sohoping in a positive reply..

Also Suanj: I live right next to a FamilySearch.org center, so if there is a record someday you want me to go look at that isn't available online due to copyright reasons, I can view them there!! [usually newer records and some of the really old ones] I would love to help out with any of your research anytime. =]

Re: Paul Lago Mersino
He called the Abbey for us and spoke to father Attilio. Father Attilio gave me his correct email and I sent him our note.
This was his reply!
"gent. signor James,
farò il possibile per venire incontro alla richiesta.
L'archivio è un po' in disordine. Ti saprò dire.
un saluto.
p attilio"
Such terrific news. I think he is on our side and will find positive news.
Crossing my fingers for luck!

Re: Paul Lago Mersino
Yes, I believe he will find... I am positive..
Father Attilio said that the Archive is no in perfect order, but he will make all possible to satisfy your request... he will say you later if he find...
I hope you corrected the Maddalena maiden name .. Brizzolara, because in our note was Gardi .... if he will find, you promised to search donations for the repair the Abbey and you also will give a donation.. I wrote so... by your input..
let me know if you corrected Maddalena maiden name in the note sent to father Attilio.. otherwise, you can write so:
Gent.mo Padre Attilio,
James
