Vitale in Cinisi

My third great-grandfather Faro Vitale was born and likely died in Cinisi, Palermo. The earliest records there are from 1867, so perhaps start there. His wife was Margarita, her maiden name has a conflicted spelling, 4 or 5 letters, Zi??i. He also very likely died before that, but take a look at this record and decide for yourselves. This is a birth record of his grandson that fails to mention his death if he had died at that time. He is the first one that starts on the right.

The birth act for Antonio Vitale indicates that his grandfather, Faro, was living at the time of the birth...

Antonio's father Francesco was age 40 which puts his birth about 1827. Faro's birth before 1805-ish?

It would appear that Faro Vitale died after 30 January 1867.
I searched 1867 and 1868 records of death and did not find him.

OK, he died before 1876 at the time of his son Carlo's marriage. The marriage took place on the sixth of january that year.

I checked the indexes for 1870, 1872, 1873, 1874, and did not find him
I found several deaths for Faro Vitale, but they were all children under the age of one year.

Can you post the link to that Jan 6th 1876 his son Carlo's marriage.

OK, he died before 1876 at the time of his son Carlo's marriage. The marriage took place on the sixth of january that year.

There is no marriage record for Cinisi on 6 January 1876. The first record is dated 8 January and it is not for Carlo.
There is a Carlo Vitale marrying Maria Carmela Munaio in Cinisi in 1876 on 27 September, but his father is deceased Carlo...

Perhaps Carlo was not married in Cinisi???

I checked the Publication of Banns in Cinisi in 1876 and did not find your Carlo, only the one marrying in September.

Then I found the marriage of Francesco Vitale and Leonarda Salmone
1861 Jan 27th in the town of Cinisi church of Santa Fara Vergine appeared Francesco Vitale son of Faro Vitale and Pietra Giordano married Leonarda Salmone daughter of deceased Giovanni Salmone and Margherita Impastato

This Faro, then, is not my 3x great-grandfather.

Carlo Vitale was married in Castellammare del Golfo.

What was his wifes name? Where did they settle in the USA?

Carlo married Lucia Palermo, and shortly died after from an appendicitis infection while still in Italy. Lucia settled in New York City sometime after 1905 and before 1914. Her picture was taken at her son's wedding that year. She looked, in a hilarious way, just like my mother's cousin Sal, who was another descendant of hers!
