Jennie Morro - New York - aft 1909?

Post by ebailey »

Having the worst time tracking this relative down. Her name is Jennie Morro.
She was possibly born year after last know sibling which would be 1909 (1910).

I understand she was born in New York to:

Giuseppe Morra
1862-
Marianna Grillo
1869-1946

She was also married to:

Sam (Salvatore) Ferreri

and had a daughter named:

Marie (Ferreri) Larocca who married Andy Larocca.

Battery is failing on laptop, so will need to follow-up any questions as needed.

You may have the following. The Giovannina Mori born in 1901 is probably Jennie, as the name Jennie was often used as a nickname for Giovannina. Why do you believe that Jennie was born after 1909?

1. Carmine Ferdinando Morra
New York, New York City Births, 1846-1909
birth:
15 July 1902
Manhattan, New York, New York, United States
father:
Giuseppe Morra
mother:
Mariannina Grillo Morra

2. Giovannina Mori

New York, New York City Births, 1846-1909
birth:
30 January 1901
Manhattan, New York, New York, United States
father:
Giuseppe Mori
mother:
Mariannina Grillo

3. Grazio Antonio Morro

New York, New York City Births, 1846-1909
birth:
1 July 1909
Brooklyn, Kings, New York, United States
father:
Giuseppe Morro
mother:
Mariannina Grilla Morro

Is this her and husband Salvatore in the 1940 census? It shows a birth year of 1901 for her.

I think you mentioned in another thread that you couldn't find death info for Jennie's mother. In case you still need it.

Also I've been looking for marriage info for Jennie and Sal. I came across the following and am wondering if this info could be for them with the names badly misspelled. I can't find an extraction of the info from the record though, so I'm just sharing it in case you want to check it out. They should have been married before 1920.

Terrui Salvatore Nov 8 1919 13985 (1919) Kings 1613864 Morrs, Giovanna

In the 1930 census-

Yes, have considered if Giovannina, Not very confident when I found it as was not confirming it through census finding too. Even more confusing to me is the Mori spelling variation... don't recall seeing/accepting that previously as a known variation.

As to 1940 census... Had thought that BD was earlier than 1909, but then two surviving ancestors recalled, but not confirmed she was the youngest of the siblings. Since Antonio was youngest..went with that.

BTW, that is her listing in the 1940 census record.

Thanks for the assistance!
