Thank you. Fantastic pics! So sureal. The second pic is quite enchanting - it doesn't look anything like a prison - very diferent from the third pic which is so stark, and certainly echoes "prison" or something similar.mmogno wrote:http://3.citynews-padovaoggi.stgy.ovh/~ ... se-2-2.jpgAngelaGrace56 wrote:.... This is really interesting. Thank you for this. I was 99.9% sure that he was in prison, but I wasn't sure whether he had refused to give consent or whether he was prohibited from doing so. I couldn't get the wording and decipher all the script. This helps to clarify. I had a feeling this story was going to be a "web" - mmmmm - maybe time to detach myself from it - but I always love a mystery.mmogno wrote:Art. 32 codice penale: Interdizione legaleAngelaGrace56 wrote: There was also something received from the Court of Teramo dated 21 July 1893, and I'm not exactly sure whether it is saying that the father, Donato di Girolamo, prohibits the marriage or that he was prohibited...…... not sure?????? I'm sure someone else will be able to make sense of what is written and translate appropriately.

I am just moving this down from my previous post, to ensure that Jamie sees it.mmogno wrote:Donato died in "Casa di Pena" (= prison) in Padua

Great, I suspected so. So basically, the first records you posted (1888 baptism record and 1909 marriage to Cetteo) are not your Anna. She is a sister to your Anna - Antonietta (aka Anna) who married Vincenzo Palma in 1901.Jamiepalma2 wrote:Yes those are three of the four children that came to America with Anna.
You won't find the records that I have located on Family Search by entering the names on the "search" tool. Records are only found by this method if the records have been "indexed" which means that the vital info has been extracted from the respective records. I noticed some Pianella records have been "indexed" but not all. I have found your records by manually going through the indices on Family Search, researching the names, and then locating the record from the info on the indices. I think I provided some links for you to where to search earlier.Jamiepalma2 wrote:Just wondering when I go to family search its not pulling up the items that you guys are finding. I go to the website then click on search and then put in the names. Should I be clicking on something different to view the italian documents that you guys are finding?
Disappointing for you. It's possible that she wasn't born in Pianella nor married there???? Once again, if you are using the search tool on Family Search, you will only find her that way if records relevant to her have been indexed. Otherwise you have to search through the records of the respective birth and marriage towns for her records.Jamiepalma2 wrote:I had no luck with my research last night. Massimillas family has been giving me trouble. I haven't been able to find any documents showing her parents names or her marriage documents. Ill continue searching today and share with you what i find.
