Need help translating birth record from 1870

Post by bressi123 »

I'm quite amazed I stumbled upon what I believe to be my great-great grandfather's original birth record from 1870 in Riace Italy. His name was Nicola Bressi. However.... the script handwriting is nearly impossible to read. I found a generalized translation of what they typically say but I'm still at a bit of a loss.

Would anyone hear be able to help translate this?

The website I used to find the record was: http://www.antenati.san.beniculturali.it/

Thanks so much.

Thank you all so much! That marriage record is wonderful. I managed to find the birth record of Paolo Bressi. Would someone be able to translate for me? There's a part in the middle I'm having difficulty understanding. "...di anni trente domiciliate..." Does that mean that lived in Riace for 30 years? Is there anything that might indicate the age of Ilario or Saveria? Trying to see how far back I can go!

Birth Record No 33: Paolo Cosimo Bressi
Riace: 23 July 1834, 10 am
Appearing was Ilario Bressi, 23 yo, Bracciale, living in Riace, Strada La Piazza. He presented a male baby born on 23 July 1834, to his legitimate wife Saveria Musuruca, 30 yo, living with her husband. He was named Paolo Cosimo.

Paolo Cosimo Bressi was baptised on 23 July 1834 in the church of Santa Maria Assunta.

Note: In this record, Saveria's surname is clearly spelt Musuruca. Maybe look at some other records to verify the correct spelling. Both Saveria (30) and Ilario's (23) ages are given in the record.

Oh my gosh I just found Ilario Bressi's birth record!! He was born in 1811.
Would someone be able to help me translate this one? I can't find the mother's name at all.

Hi T

You bet me to it. I just looked at this record as well and I was reading the mother's name as Teresa Pepe' which is a name found in Riace. What do you think?
