Can not make out some of the names or words

Post by BPS »

Hi,

I was wondering if someone could help me with this document. It's a page on my nono's passport. I need help with the following:
Professione: something?
figli di: something? Biagio
e di: something? Palma

the rest I can work out. I have attached the document.

Many thanks.

Hello :-D

Profession = meccanico = mechanic

Son of "fu" Biagio, indicating that Biagio was deceased.

And of Palma Schirrapi (spelled Sghirrapi in Crotone)

Thank you so much. It's sad knowing that my nono didn't even get to meet his father, but sadder that my great nono didn't meet his son, he passed in the war.

The "fu" on the passport means that Biagio (your nonno's father) was deceased at the time the passport was issued in 1948 (7 August).

If Biagio died during the war (WWI), and your nonno was born 13 July 1914, there were possibly a few years that they had together. If Biagio died during WWII, they had even more time.
