Marriage Pub for Francesco Gruppuso & Giuseppa Cosentino 1689

Post by sacesta »

Could I get a read for this marriage pub. 5th record down on the left (page 164).

It looks to me like Francesco's parents are Antonio (Gruppuso) and Rosalia. Is he from the parish of S. Paolo in Alcamo?

Giuseppa's mother appears to be Antonina. I'm having difficulty with her father's name. Maestro? Batossare? Given name missing? I'm not sure.

Any help is always appreciated. Thank you.

Steve

Giuseppa's mother appears to be Antonina. I'm having difficulty with her father's name. Maestro? Batossare? Given name missing? I'm not sure. The father is Maestro Baldassare (Cosentino)

Grazie mille Erudita!

I'm having a very good day finding records.

After a few days of hitting nothing but brick walls, I went to the Marriage Pubs for the Chiesa di San Giuliano Martire. The indices and records there are in excellent condition and clearly written. The Pubs provide the names of the parents of the wedded couple and the year of marriage - enough information to extend the search to further generations and to greatly narrow the search for the marriage records.

Prego, Steve. Happy you've been finding more info in the records for the parish of San Giuliano.
