1816 Processetti, Solopaca

Post by JOHN08 »

Why are the three names listed at the bottom of this record, especially number 1 and 3.

!. Maria Antonia Franco of deceased Pietro of Solopaca.

2. Maria Franco of deceased Vito of Solopaca.

3. Anna Possumato of deceased Giulio of Solopaca.

Thanks for your help.

John

The names on the bottom of the record appear to be members of a family council who convened to determine whether the bride's prospective spouse was of good moral character, etc, and worthy of marrying her, since both of her parents were deceased, and therefore unavailable to give their consent to the marriage of their minor age daughter. There are relatives listed on both her deceased mother's side of the family, and on her deceased father's side of the family, who deliberated and gave their consent.

Also, there may be another page to this record, which you haven't posted.

You're very welcome, John. Also, to clarify the info in your other post. The date of Dec 14, 1816 was the date that the extracts of the death records referred to in the marriage record were created and shown to the town official for use for the upcoming marriage. If you look at the extracted death record copies among the processetti, you will see this date at the bottom of these death records.
