Antonio Colautti birth
Re: Antonio Colautti birth
Entrada,
Thank you for all of your researching and the tip on using Family Search. That sounds much easier than the way I was going about it (and not finding anything).
I noticed the name preceding Don Antonio Cerbone death notice appears to also be a Cerbone. Can you tell if they are related?

Re: Antonio Colautti birth
The Pietro Cerbone, mentioned as one of the two people who declared Don Antonio's death, was not related to him, as I previously stated in my translation of the record above. The record clearly states that he was not a relative.

Erudita,
I apologize for not being clear. The question should have been regarding the death notice for Vincinzo Cerbone which begins on the left side of the same page as Don Antonio. The two notices for people with the same last name one immediately following the other caught my attention.

Re: Antonio Colautti birth
Sorry, Karen, I hadn't looked at the record on the left, as I could tell from the index that the parents were different. Vincenzo was the son of deceased Nicola Cerbone and deceased Rosa Cappetta. He was the husband of Maria de Rosa. He was age 50 at death and a day laborer.
Here's a link to the death index for surnames starting with Ce, starting in the year 1809.

Here's the index page listing both Vincenzo and Antonio’s death records.

Re: Antonio Colautti birth
Death of Giacinta Tavassi, wife of Don Antonio Cerbone.
She died on Feb 6, 1845 at 1 P.M. at the age of 59. She had been born in Naples, but was living in Afragola. She was a property owner, and the daughter of deceased Don Silvestro Tavassi and deceased Donna Francesca Parisi.
https://familysearch.org/ark:/61903/3:1 ... cat=974488
So I'm guessing that Don Antonio's marriage to this first wife of his had taken place in her native town of Napoli.
I also found that he started having children with the second wife (her name appears as Brigida Menna in the indices) in Afragola in 1853. So, in addition to their son, Giacomo Cerbone, born June 2, 1855 when he was 55, I found in the birth index:
Marianna Cerbone born on Feb 19, 1853
Gennaro Cerbone born on Jan 10, 1858
Vincenzo Cerbone born on May 6, 1866
I haven't searched for these birth records.

Re: Antonio Colautti birth
Hi Karen
I found the death record of Vincenzo Cerbone, older brother of Don Antonio Cerbone.
Record #263
Death of Vincenzo Cerbone on July 6, 1851. He was the son of deceased Don Pasquale Cerbone and deceased Donna Santa Pecchia. He had been born in Afragola, was a property owner, age 60, and the husband of Donna Concetta Terracciano.
https://familysearch.org/ark:/61903/3:1 ... cat=974488
I can't find death records in the town for either Santa Pecchia or Don Pasquale Cerbone. Also Vincenzo's marriage record is not among the Afragola records. I was hoping to find it to see if it yielded any additional info about Don Pasquale and Santa, but no such luck.

Erudita,
Thank you again. I really appreciate all you have done to locate, provide a link to a copy and translate all of these documents relating to my husband’s family. What especially impressed me is your ability to understand the handwriting in some of them particularly the death record for Vincenzo Cerbone. Had you not already translated I would not have guessed the name written was Cerbone.

Re: Antonio Colautti birth
Hi Karen
Again, you're very welcome. I found a few more things the other day, including a sister of Antonio and Vincenzo's. I also noticed a reference to what may be a brother of theirs in a record for one of Vincenzo's children. He is referred to as the uncle of the boy in the record, but I can't find any additional info about him to prove that he is a sibling of theirs. Anyway, as soon as I can, I will post the additional records and specifics. I'm not sure I will get to it today though.

Death of la Signora Donna Maria Giuseppa Cerbone, never married, age 85, at 10 on the 19th of March in the house on Strada Amato. She had been born in Afragola and was the daughter of deceased Don Pasquale (Cerbone), who had been a property owner there, and deceased Donna Santa Pecchia.

*The Pietro Cerbone mentioned in the record was not a relative.

I found another sister for Don Antonio and Vincenzo Cerbone-a sister named Donna Maria Benedetta Cerbone. I will try to post her info tomorrow, along with death info for Santa Pecchia, their mother. Don Pasquale, their father, remarried and had children with a second wife, Laura Monticelli. It appears that the Don Giovanni Cerbone, whom I found listed as the uncle of one of Vincenzo's children, was actually a half sibling of Don Antonio, Don Vincenzo, and the other siblings, or a child of Don Pasquale Cerbone and wife Laura Monticelli. There are quite a few records involved, as you can well imagine. I will post details as soon as I can.

Here's some new info re: Don Pasquale Cerbone and Donna Santa Pecchia
Don Pasquale Cerbone, born about 1751, worked at border control for customs and also was the receiver of import taxes or duty; in some of the records, he was listed as a property owner and also as a benestante-meaning “well-to-do” He was deceased by the end of December in 1831; I believe his death record is one of two listed in the 1826 death index, but the death records for that year are missing
His wife Santa Pecchia, died on July 20, 1803, as per the 1818 marriage record of their daughter Donna Maria Benedetta Cerbone (see below). Santa’s place of birth, place of death, and her age at death, are not given in the record.
https://familysearch.org/ark:/61903/3:1 ... cat=974488
Their daughter, Donna Maria Benedetta Cerbone, age 23, married Don Filippo Pietro Antonio Maria Mazzarella, age 41, on May 14, 1818 in Afragola. He was from Naples.
Donna Maria Benedetta died Aug 2, 1885 (widow of Filippo Mazzarella); age 80, property owner; her parents Don Pasquale property owner and Santa Pecchia property owner; Angelo Cerbone , one of two declarants was a grave digger; his relationship to the deceased, if any, is not given in the record
https://familysearch.org/ark:/61903/3:1 ... cat=974488
We know that Don Pasquale Cerbone remarried sometime after the death of Santa Pecchia, who died in 1803. On March 13, 1809, he had a child in Afragola with wife, Donna Laura Monticellii. It is not known if he and Donna Laura married there or in her native town which was Casamicciola (Isola Ischia). It is also not known if they had children together prior to 1809, but there is an 1831 death record for a daughter of theirs named Marianna who was age 19 at death, and the record states that she had been born in Afrigola. I don't see her birth listed in the birth indices which begin in 1809.
Laura Monticelli died Sept 26, 1820 in Afragola, in the house on Strada Avignone. She was the daughter of Don Pietro Monticelli and Donna Teresa de Donata (both still living). She had been born in Casamicciola and was age 40 at death. Don Pasquale Cerbone is stated to have been her second husband.
https://familysearch.org/ark:/61903/3:1 ... cat=974488
Donna Laura Monticelli and Don Pasquale Cerbone had a lot of children together. You can go through the birth indices which start in 1809 and clearly see their names and dates of birth.
One of their children, Giovanni Cerbone, served as a witness in one of the birth records of Don Pasquale’s grandson, a son of his son, Vincenzo. This Giovanni never married, was a pharmacist, and died in 1885. He was a half sibling of Pasquale’s children with Santa Pecchia.
I hope you can follow all this.
