Still having problems with understanding church records in Latin (and deciphering the handwriting) from my ancestors' town of Prizzi, Sicily. The attached marriage record is for my 5th great-grandparents, Giacomo Cutrono and Felicia Triolo. I can see that Giacomo is the son of Diego Cutrono and Vincenza (Rosa? Rocca?), and Felicia is the daughter of Vincenzo Triolo and Giovanna(?), but there seems to be much more information that I am missing. Can anyone glean anything else from this record?
Thank you so much!
Latin marriage record
Re: Latin marriage record
Giacomo's father Diego was deceased but his mother Rosa (her maiden name not given) was alive at the time of the marriage. His parents had been a married couple in this town when his father was alive. Giacomo had never before been married.
Felicia also had never before been married. Her father Vincenzo was deceased but her mother Giovanna was still alive. Her parents had also been a married couple in the town when her father was alive. She too had never before been married. Once again, the maiden name of the mother Giovanna is not given in the record.
There were three banns of marriage which had been announced during the Mass on July 7th, 14th, and 21th. The marriage took place on July 23rd. The year was either 1737 or 1787, I'm not sure from the handwriting in the record and since I can't see other records on the preceding and following pages to be sure.
