Translation of Record Correction- Magarella

Post by Jen5525 »

Hi all,

Can someone help with the translation of this record for Nunzio Magarella? It appears to be a correction of a record, I assume it pertains to his birth.

thanks in advance!

Yes, his surname had been written "Mazzarella", and the Court ordered to correct it to "Magarella".
Original record was #267 of Aug 2nd, 1850
Giuseppe "Pippo" Moccaldi

It is POSSIBLE that the correction occurred in the process of requesting documents for a marriage. The birth act is required to be presented, and the surname error may have been found at that time.
There would have been little reason to view the birth act before that. :-)
