Would someone please translate this record. I don't even know where to begin. Not even sure I have the right people. It is so hard to read. It is record 16.

Re: Marriage record from sambuca, DiGiovanni
I've tried to provide the most important details.
A second set of eyes can confirm or correct...
#!6
Solemn Promise to celebrate marriage dated 2 July 1821
The Church celebration (right column) was on the 8th.
Groom: Girolamo di Giovanna, 22, born in Sambuca, keeper of the oxen, son of Calogero di Giovanna (deceased), and of Audienzia Ferraro (living), age 43, residing in the Rosario neighborhood.
Bride: Audienzia [no surname given], age 15, born in Sambuca, daughter of unknown parents.
The documents (a list) that were presented to the official included:
1 - birth act of the groom
2 - birth act of the bride extracted from the parish books of this town.
3 - act of notification with no opposition
The groom did not provide the death act of his father, and his paternal grandfather, as he declared that he did not know of the place of death. The mother of the groom declared that she could not indicate the place of death. The bride was represented by her tutor/guardian, Saverio Gioglio, who gave his consent.

Re: Marriage record from sambuca, DiGiovanni
Thanks so much Tessa. Now I am really confused. I thought the Girolamo in this marriage record and the Girolamo in the birth record of Calogero were the same person, but now I don't see how that is possible. What do you think?
They sure give a lot of info in these old records.
Thanks again for your help.

I do not believe they are the same person.
In the birth record of Calogero, the mother is not the same as the bride in he marriage act.
I tried to find a birth to the couple in the marriage act, but without success. I did find several births listing Girolamo di Giovanna as the father, but each time a different name for the mother.
It is interesting that they were also keeper of the oxen.

Yes, that is why I was confused. My Girolamo was married to Anna Maria Catalenello. Thanks so much.
Re: Marriage record from sambuca, DiGiovanni
As I pointed out on the other thread, they are in fact the same person, with parents Calogero Di Giovanna and Audenzia Ferraro. Probably his wives Audenzia and Anna Maria Catalanello were the same person as well, but that conclusion is less secure.
