Re: My Great Grandfathers and Grandfathers Birth Place
Additionally, relative to above:
On the Baltic arriving NY on Jan 28, 1905 out of Liverpool, Michele Gentile, age 24, Organ Grinder, born Italy, (looks like South-so), in Manchester 5 years, to go to his brother-in-law, Antonio Cardelli.
There is a Cesidio Gentili, who arrived on May 2, 1904, out of Cherbourg. Right age as other listed in 1901 census...also traveling with him are a Pietro Socci and a Fillipo Macari (could this the same surname as listed as Magari in census?)...all were indicted as coming from Settefrati in Caserta.
There is a Domenico Gentile arriving on May 11, 1907 out of Cherbourg, age 26, also from Settefrati.
And an Evangelisto Gentile, arriving on Aug 2, 1910 from port of Naples, to meet brother Domenico in NY, left wife, Gabrella in Settefrati. Travelinf with him is Domenico's wife and child...Luigia Pia, age 27 and Angelamaria Gentile, age 5. According to the manifest, Evangelisto in the US before, 1906-1909.
In 1906, Oct 4, Evangelisto arrives the first time, with a Vincenso Socci, age 25, and his brother Antonio, Socci, age 15. Also to meet Domenico, also born Settefrati.
There is an Angelo Viglietta, listed as arriving in NY on April 29, 1907...but date of birth listed would be 1879..off from above info. On was to Lancaster, Pa to brother Rocco. Also from Settefrati
Leonardo Pompa arrived on way to PA to a cousin--Cescio C??etta. Listed Settefrati as home town.
Age was 20, Ship Calabria, arriving in Sept. 1904.
Think that Settefrati bears looking into as the town of origin.....long shot, but who knows?

Re: My Great Grandfathers and Grandfathers Birth Place
Hi Essgee, thanks, in fact Settefrati town currently in Frosinone province is the first town wich now George sended the request, so as in other commons as San Donato Val di Comino... now we wait the replies of this commons and I think that this commons are very probable, also beacuse george remember as birthplace Picinisco, but in Picinisco no result, and Settefrati is very near picinisco... thanks for apport and your effort, take care, again thanks, suanj

Re: My Great Grandfathers and Grandfathers Birth Place
Suanj,
I have been searching the UK BDM today from 1900 to 1923. I have found the death record of a Carmella Gentile who died Atchem Salop, December Quarter 1923, Ref: 6a 773, aged 82. I haven't sent for the certificate yet , but I will do tomorrow. I doubt if it will have any useful information on the certificate, but we can only hope. It should tell us who registered her death and it is more than likely to be Girolomo, which will confirm it is my Great Grandmother. My cousins say she came from Italy in 1919.but they have lost the information.
Regards
George

Re: My Great Grandfathers and Grandfathers Birth Place
GOD Thanks....
A GREAT new, about this search... when we don't data, when we don't info, and is no possible to find by usual/conventional way ....
the able researcher however it find!
This search for the happiness of George friend:
Girolomo* Gentile birthact born in Pozzilli(Isernia province) the 14 Oct 1863 to 5.30 A.M. hour, and it registered in the civil record office in the year 1888 by court sentence( the child now was of 25 old!), son of Antonio and Carmela Tartaro... etc...
Really the first name is Girolomo and no GirolAmo as right spelling; in fact also in Uk the signature was Girolomo Gentile.

Great job, Raffaella! One more person you've helped find ancestors for!
George must be truly happy right now,,,,I know I would be!
We can all learn from this that if you look hard enough and know what to look for, anything is possible.

Note that Suanj and Riccardo perform genealogy researches in Italy, I can say first hand that Suanj went above and beyond the call of duty in research she performed for me, both first class professionals!!!!!!!!
