Actually there were only two marriage publications or banns of marriage for a civil marriage. The first marriage publication was posted on the door of the town hall on Sunday May 23rd. On May 30th, also a Sunday, it was replaced by the second marriage publication. The second publication was posted for three days and ended on June 3rd. So anytime from June 3rd forward, the civil marriage could take place, and it did take place on June 3rd, as per Biff in his post above.

Yes, Dolores, the top record is the actual civil marriage record. The bottom record is about the banns or marriage publications which preceded the civil marriage.

Dolores

I don't know if you realize that Giuseppe Cipriano was previously married to a Saveria Flammia, as her death act was one of the records relinquished for the marriage. This info appears on the publications record.

Erudita, I did not know that! Is there any other info on there for Saveria?

Dolores
There is no date given for her death. The handwritten section of the publications record just gives the date in May when the birth acts of the spouses, and the death act of his wife, were relinquished for the marriage. The marriage record itself doesn't even state the marital status of the spouses-whether never before married or widowed.
