A few questions on this:
https://www.familysearch.org/ark:/61903 ... cc=2043436
Did she die June 16 1885?....in Lucera?
Did her husband Giacomo Capece die July 28 1884 in the same location (he doesn't show up on the 1884 Casalvecchio index)
Leonarda Antonia Niro 1885 death

Re: Leonarda Antonia Niro 1885 death
My understanding is that Leonarda Antonia Niro died 28 July 1884.
Re: Leonarda Antonia Niro 1885 death
I agree with Livio about her date of death. What was delayed was the recording of the death and the insertion of her death act into the registers of the town of Casalvecchio. Her husband appears to still have been alive at the time of her death, which took place in Casalvecchio di Puglia. I checked the 1885 death index, and then the records jump to 1890. I didn't see his death act there.

Thanks Livio & Erudita!
That one was confusing me. I could not really read or get my basic translator to interpret the note on the end for Castelnuovo Della Daunia or much of the body of the text.
I appreciate the insight!

The handwritten section at the top of the page on the right side has to do with the closing of Part II of the present register of the acts of death by the town's mayor/the official of the civil state of Casalvecchio di Puglia, so your record on the left hand page was the last record in Part II of the town's death register for the previous year. The date and time that the register was closed by the official was Jan 1, 1886 at 9 a.m.
The notation after that to which you refer in your reply above just states that it was seen on Jan 23rd in Caselnuovo della Daunia by the pretore (court magistrate). His signature appears below his title of Il Pretore.

Re: Leonarda Antonia Niro 1885 death
Thanks for that clarity!
BTW I was scanning Giacomo Capece & Leonarda Antonia Niro's children's records and found their daughter's (Concetta) marriage to Giuseppe Fino in 1872 which indicated that Giacomo was already deceased. Sure enough, I found his death record in 1871

His was the last of that year (#128) and has that same note "The notation after that to which you refer in your reply above just states that it was seen on Jan 23rd in Caselnuovo della Daunia by the pretore (court magistrate). His signature appears below his title of Il Pretore."
One more thing that is stored in the memory banks and won't confuse me! Thanks again!

Glad I got a chance to type my explanation before you found Giacomo's record. Often the notation is in the margin of the record and not in the text of the record itself.
As to Giacomo Capece, he died yesterday, on Dec 23, 1871 at 11 P.M. in the house on Strada Beccia. He was age 61 and a contadino (peasant). He was the son of deceased Nicola Maria (Capece) and the son of deceased Arcangela Stera. He was the husband of Antonia Niro.

Re: Leonarda Antonia Niro 1885 death
Thanks y'all!
This info helped me tie together a family I was working on.
https://www.wikitree.com/wiki/Niro-105
Giacomo & Antonia Niro's daughter Maria Concetta Capece married my 1st cousin Giuseppe Fino
https://www.wikitree.com/wiki/Fino-73
And it's possible that somewhere further back that Antonia's Niro ancestor and mine are connected....but that's for another day
