Birth act - Irene Altobello

Post by researching »

Hi Guys,

I'm trying to find the birth act for Irene Altobello. I have found something in 1840, which doesn't seem quite right to me (I thought it would be closer to 1830). The index is difficult to read, so I'm not sure that I have the right name, and I find the document even harder to read. It begins on image 685 and continues on 686. The act number is 350.

Family Search has death information for her, but those acts are part some missing years on Antenati, so i haven't seen the actual act, but it says her parents are Domenico Altobello and Lucia Colucci

Could you please let me know what this birth acts says, if it's the right one?

Thanks
Julie

Sorry, not the one you are looking for:

Baby is Teresa Altobello. Parents are Nunzio Altobello and Leonarda Bartolo.

I see Irene's birth record listed in the 1841 birth index in Trani.

I'll try to find the record after dinner.

Thanks Erudita. I'm not sure that I trust the info on Family Search for parent's names without seeing the actual act. What do you think?

I found another one, but I think it says Teresa. Can you confirm, please?

I'm having a tough time with this one. One of the acts I had, I think it was for one of her children, said she was "barese". I checked in the town of Bari over quite a big period, but didn't see any sign of her and I think the last name only came up once.

The info from family search says that she was born in Trani in about 1840 and that she died at the age of 28. I can't find a birth act that supports this. It also says that she married Giuseppe Di Bello, which is the husband I am looking for. I can't see the death act, number 590, 09 Oct 1868, Taranta (why there?), because those years are missing in Antenati and I don't have access to a family research library. It says her parents are Dominico Altobello and Lucia Colucci, but I don't know if this is right.

I am going to try to find a marriage act for Giuseppe Di Bello and Irene Altobello. What would you guys do next?

Thanks for your help and support.

Julie,

This 1844 birth record is for Antonia and not Teresa. Born on Jan 16, 1844 and baptized on the 17th. Father: Domenico, age 35, mother Lucia Colucci, age 30. So this is a sibling of Irene.

There is one missing year of birth records-I think it was 1835, so maybe that is the year you need.

I have to get ready for an appointment now, so that's all I can do for now.

Thanks Erudita. It's possible that 1835 is the year I need, but I'm pretty sure the marriage certificate that I found said 1832. Anyway, I have re-checked 1831 to 1833 and it isn't there. Do you think there's a chance it just wasn't listed?

Oh man, I just looked up through the thread and the post I wrote with the marriage act isn't even there. ugh!

I don't know why I have so many problems with posts that don't post. Am I the only one?

I can't remember what I wrote, but I think this is the marriage act.

1852 number 174

Can someone please confirm?

Thanks

The antenati website died on me, but I did find in the index the marriage of Domenico Altobello and Lucia Colucci on July 15, 1830. I'll be around later this morning or early afternoon. The 1852 marriage record is not loading for me either.
Really have to go now.

Yeah, Antenati doesn't want to work for me either.

Have a good appointment. I guess you're in North America if it's morning there. That explains some things. :)
