Hi,
I believe I have found the marriage record for my 4th great grandfather, Domenico Negri. It is on pg. 88, 1774. There are many listings by this priest on the previous page so they all run together.
I do not know the date. At the bottom I read a 2 and January but I am not sure. It reads Jannes or Jannis Dominicus, (meaning Giovanni Domenico?) from Joseph Negri (Giuseppe) and Anna Maria from Domenico (her father) and ? Jannie? Ambrosio. Cannot decipher the next line.
I know on other records he went by Domenico and his father was Giuseppe. Her name was Anna Ambrosio from other records and her father was Domenico. I do not know the wive's names of the fathers.

I appreciate any help on this that you could give me. Does this sound like the right record?
Thank you,
Jefferie (jrbak)

The date is on the previous page. It looks like Feb 6, 1774.
Giovanni Domenico, son of Giuseppe Negri (groom)
Anna Maria Ambrosio (bride), daughter of Domenico, the son of deceased Giovanni Ambrosio
Banns of marriage were on Jan 2nd, 9th, and 16th.

Hello Erudita (Erudita74),
Thank you again so much for the translation of this marriage record. This fills in blanks again. However, I was a little confused by your placement of (groom) after Giuseppe instead of Domenico. Domenico was married to Anna Ambrosio, right? Also this word Jannes before Domenico, does this mean Giovanni or another name? This is the first record I show of another name for Domenico. I just want to be sure Erudita, before I place this in family tree as recently I kept making too many errors. I can't thank you enough!
My best to you,
Jefferie (jrbak)

I apologize for confusing you. Yes, Domenico, called Giovanni Domenico, (Negri) in this record was the groom. His father was Giuseppe Negri.

Dear Erudita (Erudita74),
Thank you so much for taking the time to set me straight. I just wanted to make sure before I placed it in the record as I had been making errors recently and once I get on that path it perpetuates my mistakes. I have never seen so many Giuseppe's, Giovanni's and Batistta's all in one place; it can really get confusing and then when it is on both sides of the family paternal and maternal -WOW! So you can see how I can easily become confused. Thanks so much! Have a great day.
