Great Grandmother's Birth Record

Post by demari18 »

Greetings,
I have found the birth record for my husband's great grandmother, Maria Amalia Cimino in the records held by the Church of the Latter Day Saints. These records are not online yet but were obtained by going to the local church. I am hoping that someone can help me with the translation of the records. What I can read is the place, Marzano Appio, The father's name Nicola Cimino, the mother' name Chiara Palumbo. I am hoping for the date of Maria's birth and the father's occupation and any other information that can be read from the document.
Thank you for your help. DeMari

Note: You have only provided page 2 of the birth act...

Birth on 13 March 1840
Father: Nicola Cimino, carpenter (I cannot decipher his age)
Mother: Chiara Palumbo, his legitimate wife, 32, farmer.
The child was presented to the official by the midwife, Angelica di Sarro,

There is a notation in the margin that Maria Amalia Cimino married with Angelo Nardelli on 16 February 1878

Thank you so much Tessa. That is all I copied on my hard drive at the church. Only realized my error when I got home. Need another trip to the church. Thank you again! DeMari
