I'm looking for someone in Sardinia to help me trace ,my birth father. There is only a very slim chance of success as i have very little information. I am happy to pay a professional to help.
I’m trying to trace an Antonio Fiori, most probably from Sassari region of Sardinia
He was probably born in 1943
He lived and worked in Scotland from approx mid 1960s-late 1960.s at the Gleneagles hotel as a waiter.
He had two sons via his girlfriend at the time and both sons, one of whom is me, were put up for adoption.
I have tried DNA tests but there are no close matches.
I’d be interested to know what DNA company is likely to have most Sardinians DNA in.
Also, I have a lawyer in Sassari who will start to do some searches for me but we really don’t know where to start and i think it is better to hire someone who is experienced in these matters.
We could start with the telephone book and ive also been advised to look at military records.
I was in Sardinia this year but it was very difficult and I thin’ I need an expert.
I have so little information, I know I’m asking the impossible.
I do have a photo of him when he was about 18 in Sardinia,
Any help or guidance would be appreciated

Re: Looking for someone in Sardinia to help with a search
Hi Richy I can give just a advice to you, and by my experience, in similar cases, and I had success, to post on FB of North Sardinia, without detailed explanations, to post a simple message in Italian Language like:
"Cerco Antonio FIori che vedete nella foto, che lavorò come cameriere al Gleneagles Hotel negli anni Sessanta in Scozia. Nato nel nord Sardegna probabilmente verso il 1943. Qualcuno lo riconosce, e potrebbe aiutarmi? Grazie."
And to attach the picture you have… Or send a email to https://www.facebook.com/pg/lanuovasard ... e_internal
asking same help
If someone ask some detail you can say that your father wish meet him because they were friends….
They have many followers and I believe that is the better way….
Best regards, suanj

I understand but normally is most probable that your Antonio coming from North Sardinia.. but that is the only possible contact that I found.. sometimes don't replying thinking a joke… who know… In Italy who search someone call in the TV program "CHI L'HA VISTO?" http://www.chilhavisto.rai.it/dl/clv/index.html maybe you can send a email.. also in english.. if the story is interesting they will reply you and this could be the better way..

There is an Italian Group page on Facebook -- https://www.facebook.com/groups/109653089060898/
You could try searching on there for names that are in your DNA matches - and try tracing roots from there. I actually found cousins by doing a search on Facebook.
Just an idea.
