Elsie Jodscheidt

Post by ray1955 »

Ok so my grandma was Elsie Jodscheidt and she married a Richard Stanley Snyder 1927.
My mom was born Johanna Louise Snyder.

However, Elsie in 1927 it appears was married to a Calvin Young.
On the picture attached in Family Search it doesn't show married but far right says spouse.

I would like to get marriage document for each.

Calvin Young had a a daughter in 1927 that was born Dorothy Young.

Please see what I found and would love to figure this out.

thanks in advance. I have done a lot on my Italian searches for my family but this is the US side
and very very convoluted.

Ray

Thank you Suanj....appreciate this this had to be a lot of work on your part.
I will pass on to my sister. Our mother has passed away and my sister has been working on family genealogy for about 25 years. After mom passed, my sister vowed she would find the truth about her father. :)

Suanj here is what we have in a marriage document for 1926 to an OLA Holt in Arizona.
Seems Stanley Richard Snyder was married in 1926 and went to Chicago where he married my
grand mother 1927.

Looks like Stanley Snyder was married to two women.

Just got off the phone with my sister. She said she had the information you had however you got your information much faster what took her years took you just days. Your amazing.
She has issue with Richard Stanley Snyder and Stanley Snyder. Appear to be the same person but we're at a point we just don't know. Back then when they have documents they didn't require social security numbers. Also, if someone is going to do something they are not supposed to like get a minor pregnant and then marry someone when they are already married to someone else they usually will change their name.......look forward to hearing from you and once again thanks so much for responding.

I believe that for a correct search, a similar name is not enough. To find out if he is the same person, you need to know the names of Richard S Snyder and Stanley Snyder's parents. If it is the same person, the parents' names must be identical.
Also, Richard S Snyder claims to have been born in Arizona, but in the 1930 census of Stanly Snyder, he claims to have been born in Nevada! Of course I understand that if one was a bigamist, he cheated on the data so as not to be recognized, not to be discovered.

On 1940 census, he stated to be born in Nebraska!!!

Nome
Stanley Sylvester Snyder
