Help with death record

Post by jml1991 »

After the first two lines of the attached death record for my ancestor, Biagio lo Presti, who died on 29 April 1674 in Pietraperzia, Sicily, I am lost. I think it says that he was 40 years old at the time of death, but the rest? Are his parents named? His wife, I believe, was Margarita, but I don't see her name there, though I have found that the death records for men in that town during that time often did not include their spouse's name, unlike those for women. Any help would be much appreciated! Thank you!

He was about age 40 at death. There are no parents' names given and no name of a spouse or spouses. The rest of the record just mentions the sacraments which he received: Confession/Penance, Eucharist or Holy Communion, and Extreme Unction (the Last Rites). Then it says he was buried in this "Maria Ecclesia" of this town. I don't know what parish this record is from but I assume this is referring specifically to this parish or church from which this record is taken.
