Help with script Atto di Nascita

Post by RosaVita »

Hi, I wondered if anyone could help me with deciphering this nearly illegible atto di nascita. This is my late fathers birth entry, his name was Tramontano Antonio his mother was Tramontano Maria Rosa, I believe that he was born out of wedlock in Napoli. He was born on 14 January 1944 but can’t make out anything else, please can anyone understand any other information?
Many thanks in anticipation

I think Vincenza's occupation, seen in the link above, is ostetrice-another word for "midwife"

How funny! That was my initial thought and then today before I posted the translation I changed my mind and deleted it. I had intended to write that "ostetrice" was my initial thought. Well that's good that we agree it is a Vincenza and not a Vincenzo. I'd say "ostetrice" is more likely. I shall go edit it.

I think Pippo thought it said carrettiera? Do you agree with the ages? 70 for Vincenza/o and 56 for Maddalena?

Vico storto, St Lucia 16 Napoli I think is the address?

Yes to the ages being 70 for Vincenza and 56 for Maddalena.

Yes, of course. "Vico storto, St Lucia 16 is exactly it." Well done you.
