JS Children of Non Married Parents
Question...are there any complications for minors who's parents are not married (boyfriend / girlfriend) and the mother qualifies JS via her Italian lineage? I'm not referring to Divorce, rather never married.

Much easier if it is the mother who possesses the JS tie since there is no doubt of her parental relationship to the child. If it were the father who possessed citizenship, a written affirmation of paternity is required.
And, no, the parents do not have to be married to transmit citizenship.

Re: JS Children of Non Married Parents
What is acceptable as a written affirmation of paternity? If parents weren't married to each other when child was born but both parents names are on the child's birth certificate is that sufficient? Would including baptism certificate help?
Re: JS Children of Non Married Parents
One would think the birth certificate is sufficient, but sometimes even birth certificates are questioned because the information is often supplied by the mother. A notarized statement by the father would be confirmation of the bc information.
