True. So, if this is in fact the wrong birth record, then there should be a death record for this Giovanni who was born in 1840.
(Unfortunately the 1852 and 1853 birth records are not online, so we can’t be completely certain that the Giovanni who married Maria Concetta was in fact born circa 1852 as per the information on the marriage records and as per the information on their first child’s birth record:
I'd already found Rosina's 1888 birth record , which I posted for you in my previous post. I was planning to look for Giovanni's death record as well, because I knew that the 1840 birth record had to be his, but I don't need to now that you have located it, so that's good, because I can get some of my current indexing project sorted.
It's odd that they had obviously seen the 1840 birth record, corrected the mother's name, and didn't notice that Giovanni's age was 12 years out??? How can that happen???? But it does happen, I've seen similar before.
Fantastic! Good to hear. He'd probably starting showing his "true" age by the time he had reached 51? I wonder whether his wife knew how old he was when they married. There's quite an age difference (which of course wasn't uncommon back then.)
