Hello,
I was looking for help translating the death certificate of Celesta Biagini and Marriage certificate of her and Francesco Credi (note these were provided by the commune as these particular archives are not online.) I was curious on the marriage certificate if it's just normal language as there seem to be quite a bit written. The other piece if I was reading correctly Celesta's mom was a Biagini as well?
Thanks D!

Re: Translation of Death and Marriage certificate - Montese
Yes, the bride's mother is Rosalba Biagini.
Marriage date 23 October 1871 in Montese.
Francesco was age 26, born in Maserno, both his parents were deceased
Celesta was age 20, born in Maserno, both of her parents were living.
The document has the legal language of the marriage citing the law and codes. It also mentions the publication of banns on the 18 and 25 June 1871.
What you may be most interested in is at the end where the couple wishes to acknowledge the birth of a son on 11 July 1871 in this town, recorded on 13 July at #107. They recognize him as their natural and legitimate son.
The child's name is not stated.

Re: Translation of Death and Marriage certificate - Montese
Thank you Tessa. I seem to have this luck that the year I need is the missing year.. of course the child had to be born in 1871 all of the birth, marriage and death are missing online
That is why I had to go to the commune for the Marriage certificate.
If I'm doing the math on the age from your translation on the marriage, does the death certificate indicate an age of 88?

Re: Translation of Death and Marriage certificate - Montese
Celesta was age 88 when she died at 2 PM on 14 December 1939
Yes, it is unfortunate that the records for 1871 are missing. But since you have the date AND the record number for the child, you can request it from the Comune.

Re: Translation of Death and Marriage certificate - Montese
Thank you Tessa!
Quick follow up I was trying to scan to see if any of these new names death certificates were available online in the commune. On Rosalba's mother (Catterina Marcari) , I couldn't find the surname of Marcari in any of the Montese indexes. Could it be Marcacci by chance? I did find a few of those but that was the closest I could see.
Thanks!
