Re: Help translating documents Pelligrino Menozzi
Thank you as always!
Now that I see the translation on the death date, was he born the same month/day? Meaning the poor guy died on his birthday...and was the birth year 1849? That last two digit I'm not 100% sure of. I wish I could find more of these cards, they are a wealth of info!
It is odd it didn't mention him being a widower, now that you've decoded the spelling of Maria's last name I will look through the death records to see if she shows up there. It should be a pretty small window given the timing of the marriages, and sad she would have been young in her mid 20's .
Thanks!

Re: Help translating documents Pelligrino Menozzi
My apologies... I realize I did not include the birth date written in the Individual record card.
He was born 14 July 1849.
The date of 10 July 1910 is the date of elimination from the register... which also MAY BE the date of death. You would need to confirm with the death act.
The death act for Maria Canovi should be included in the marriage documents for his second marriage.
Look for the Processetti or Allegati of the marriage.
NOTE: I found a death act for Maria Canovi in 1979 - but she is the wife of MANSUETO MENOZZI
Her parents are the same as on the marriage act in 1874 with Pellegrino. Her place of birth (Montecchio) is also the same. She was age 25. This is likely an error by the clerk regarding her husband's given name.

Re: Help translating documents Pelligrino Menozzi
Thanks Tessa...
I found the publication of the 2nd marriage, I think I'm making something out about the 1st marriage and Maria at the bottom?
https://www.antenati.san.beniculturali. ... id=1959385 page 13
I searched the Curatone commune for the 1st marriage just to see if had any different naming unfortunately that 1874 marriage book is not displayed, but the 10 year index shows the marriage of Pellegrino to Maria as an entry for 1874. Perhaps someone used a nickname or a middle name and it go recorded that way on her death record?

Re: Help translating documents Pelligrino Menozzi
Yes, the publication states that the official received the births of Pellegrino and Carolina from their respective parishes along with a copy of the death of Maria Canovi, the former wife of Pellegrino.
May 1879 was a difficult month for Pellegrino.
His father died on 18 May 1879 and his wife, Maria Canovi, died on 29 May 1879.
Here is the death act for his father, Domenico.

Thank you!
Poor guy....
Am I reading this correctly that he then lost a baby (I can't quite make out the first name, but it appears as though Maria is a middle name) only a couple months old in 1886 with his second wife?
