Interpretation Of Baptism(Birth?) Record For Giuseppe Battaglia

Post by Belsitoj »

Hello. I believe this is the baptism ( and birth??) certificate for one of my ancestors, Giuseppe Battaglia. I would appreciate it if someone can help me interpret as much of the information as possible. It was found in the Antenati database Thank you so much. Joe

Dated Nov 29, 1817, born today to Santo Battaglia and Rosa Corso, a married couple of this town. Godparents: Giuseppe Battaglia of Lorenzo, and Vincenza Demona/Demena (sp?) , wife of Francesco Galotaro of this town.

Thank you so much. So is this just the birth certificate and not the baptism?

It's the baptism record, which also indicates that the infant was born on the same day, Joe. I thought you'd understand that since I gave you the names of the godparents. Sorry for the confusion.

Joe
I forgot to add that the godfather's father, Lorenzo, was deceased.
Hope you have a great day too, Joe.
