Hello, could someone help with the translation of Giuseppe Scardini (Scardina).

I found a later sibling and it seems like the mother's maiden name is slightly different, instead of Naso, it looks like La'Naso. I was curious if this is common due to illiteracy or perhaps just the commune worker who knew a name that was local as in this case they had moved towns from the above in Castelbuono vs Cefalu.

Thank you,

Translating Birth Record
Re: Translating Birth Record
In the birth act of Giuseppe Vincenzo Scardini, the mother is identified as Concetta Naso of Cefalu, daughter of deceased Giuseppe, age 30. The father is identified as Gaspare Scardini of Bagheria, son of deceased Virgilio, age 36, merchant/dealer.
Birth and presentation of 1 May 1874.
Presentation made by the midwife Maria Lucia Scialabbe, 50.
In the birth act of Giovanni Scardino, the mother is identified as Concetta L'Anasa, wife of Gaspare Scardino, 40, laborer. Birth on 17 July 1878.
I think you are correct that illiteracy and surnames familiar in a town would contribute to the variation in spellings.
