Napoleonic index translation help - Gaggio Montano

Post by deigo1 »

Hello,

I was able to find the multi-year and event (birth, marriage and death) index from the Napoleonic period of time for my ancestors in Gaggio Montano.

Specifically, I believe I located at least the birth index for Giovanna Guidotti from 1812.

The link to that index page is here (the handwriting is great):

https://antenati.cultura.gov.it/ark:/12 ... 65/wQ3Y7jq

The trouble I'm having is linking the reference number in the index, (I'm reading it as a 5) and how the corresponds to the birth registry for that year on antenati. There are several of the same numbers in the index.

I believe I found her corresponding death record from 1890...

Thank you,
D.

I can't find the records listed in the index in the supposedly related register.
My guess is that the the register is only for the hamlet of Affrico, while the index is for the main village (Gaggio)

Thank you Pippo, I've written to the archives to see if perhaps this register for Gaggio was not published. I do see now that you call out Affrico that in a different year they had two birth registers (one for Affrico and one for Gaggio), which I didn't not understand until I read your post and looked closer. It also looks like in later years they combined them or at least the indexes as they notate Gaggio or Affrico.

If they are able to help, I will post back here.

Thank you,
D.
