I have come across this very unusual name in the abruzzo region. Can it be the latin equivalent of Amante? I have two men, one named Brandimaste (I think the first one reads Brandimaste) and the other Amante. They both married a woman named Anna Maria, both had children named Anna Giuseppa and Concezio, their birth dates match up................trying to figure out if they are the same name........I suspect it but can't prove it.
It's possible that I am reading the name incorrectly, perhaps it's not Brandimaste, including 2 screenshots.
1. Is his name Brandimaste?
2. Can Amante perhaps be his nickname?
Thanks!!!!!
have you ever heard the name Brandimaste?

Re: have you ever heard the name Brandimaste?
In the first document, the name is clearly Brandimonte. It's a surname, and not a first name, as far as I can tell by searching online. So you might have a double surname. Possibly one of the surnames was used as a first name.
In the second document, it looks like Brandimarte (see second link re Abruzzo)

Yes, I agree with Pippo, as highest incidence of the surname Brandimarte is in the Abruzzo region.
As a first name, Brandimarte was a fictional character. Here's a link to an English version of what Pippo posted.
