Cacioppo

I can only translate bits and pieces-- someof it looks different
what is the "O" mean for the date up top
was the child born stillborn
do they indicate a mother
I see the name Francesca with a father of Michele Cacioppo and dated May 1 1833 but I see extra words
Thanks for any help

Re: Cacioppo
The "o" is a notation to correct the date from April to May (see right margin)
The mother is not named and there is no indication that the child was stillborn. Francesca Cacioppo, daughter of 22yo Michele Cacioppo, was born and baptized on 2 May 1833

Re: Cacioppo
Do you mean notes on the right-hand margin?
Re: Cacioppo
Yes, born on 1st at 4 am. Presented and baptized on 2nd.
The official corrected his error by writing a null sign over the month and boxing April as well as signing his surname below it. The correction is on the far right with another null sign, the month of Maggio, and his surname written below it.

Re: Cacioppo
Yes i mean on the righthand margin
these are two different records for siblings
Does the 1835 record read the same as the 1833 with NO mother? isn't that strange...
i saw the word prosetti something and i was wondering if the child was left with no mother.. as I have a record of marriage to Michele and his spouse is on my tree so i am trying to confirm this indeed is Vincenza Tabbone's children
Thank you for reading and confirming what it says.
I appreciate it much

Re: Cacioppo
The father listed in the second record also is Michele Cacioppo. I don't see a mother listed on the record or in the index. Other births have mothers listed in the index but not for this one.
Re: Cacioppo
The second birth act you posted from 1835 is also for a female child with the given name Francesca. It is possible that the first child died.
The record is a mess...
The clerk incorrectly entered the name of the midwife as the presenter/declarant, but corrected it and wrote Michele Cacioppo, 32yo farmer in the margin.
He is identified as the father, and the place for the mother's name is left blank. So no mother named.
EDIT TO ADD:
Here is the death act ofvthe first Francesca at one year of age.
Death 22 July 1834
She was the daughter of Michele Cacioppo, and no mother named.
She died in the home of Nunzia Cammara (no relationship given- could have been a wetnurse)

Re: Cacioppo
Francesca I died in July 1834, father Michele, again no mother listed.
Re: Cacioppo
May 13, 1839 marriage of Michele and Vincenza in Campofiorito. The handwritten sections are rather washed out, but I don't see anything about this marriage legitimizing the two daughters named Francesca that Michele had previously fathered and naming Vincenza as their mother.

Thanks, G. I was looking for that late last night, but couldn't find it quickly before I went to bed. I still don't see anything there that would help identify the mother of the two Francesca's that Michele fathered several years before he married Vincenza.

Gli atti di legittimazione di quel periodo in Sicilia dovrebbero essere cercati nei registri dei "Diversi"

Re: Cacioppo
oh wow
all around the mulberry bush
yes the children's record seemed a mess
but no mother-- wonder if there is an earlier marriage
or death but why silence about her-- seems odd and two children
will look it over and document
guess death of first has no mother listed as well
now i need to see if VincenzaTabbone had children with him
Thank you so much!
