Age of the father
In the following birth record number 74 link, is the age of the father, Giovanni Catalano, given?

Re: Age of the father
No age given for Giovanni but it gives his father's name to be Giorgio - Giovanni son of Giorgio.

Thought so. Unusual. My problem is that I also show him, with no wife specified, as the father of a son born 45 years earlier and that seems questionable, or at least a second wife. I guess I need to search for his marriage to Carolina Baresa to hopefully find his age to determine if I have two Giovanni Catalano's as I could not find the birth record of his much older son.

Re: Age of the father
Ron, the wife's name was Calogera not Carolina. I need to recheck the spelling of her surname. Maybe Barrese. Her father was Orazio. It was the midwife that declared the birth so that's possibly why there was no age given for Giovanni. It says that he was away from the town at the time of the birth.

Thank you Angela. Calogera probably got Americanized to Carolina at some point. See that a lot for Italian names in my own family relatives that I knew (Gandolfa to Mamie, Filomena to Fanny, Evangelista to Angelo). The civil document does look like Barrese. Not getting anywhere with finding Giovanni Catalano potential first wife or determining if there was another Giovanni Catalano as I cannot find a birth record for Giacomo Catalano in either Castellammare del Golfo or Caccamo (Caccamo has some indexes in chronological order instead of alphabetically by surname, or no index.

I've located Giovanni and Calogera Barresi's marriage record:
1899 Marriage No 34 Giovanni Catalano and Calogera Barresi
https://antenati.cultura.gov.it/ark:/12 ... 09/wlb7kzM
This Giovanni was 23 and not married. Let me know if you want it translated. I just need to move on to something else at the moment.

I posted the birth and baptism of Giacomo Catalano, son of Giovanni, in your other thread.
Mother was Castrenza Sangiorgio.

Yes, I saw that. Thank you. That part of that tree is now more accurate regarding the Catalano family. I've been trying to help out two Facebook groups who are DNA connected (fifth or sixth cousins) but have not found the actual person link between their two trees. One of the groups is related to my Tree, which means that the other DNA group would actually be related in some way to my tree too. Searching for months, but no luck finding the common person between those two Trees. One Tree originates out of Cattolica Erica and the other out of Castellammare del Golfo. Found two common towns, Bisacquino and Burgio on both trees, but not the same people from those towns. Sooner or later, I'll get there.

You may not have seen that I located Giovanni and Calogera Barresi's marriage record for you. Obviously it is not the same Calogera you have in your tree but it might come in handy at some other time. I'll repost find below.
(I used the ten year indices and they are absolutely excellent. Very informative and easy to use.)

Thanks. Nothing further needed. The only other Giovanni Catalano that I have was born about 1811. I can translate what you sent me since it's formatted. At this point, can't place on my tree. Not surprising that town is different too.
