SS Canopic Manifest

Over 25 million Italians have emigrated between 1861 and 1960 with a migration boom between 1871 and 1915 when over 13,5 million emigrants left the country for European and overseas destinations.

SS Canopic Manifest

Post by wisemonkey »

I am searching for the ship manifest for the SS Canopic. I am looking for my grandfather, Giambattista Ricci. The ship arrived in Boston 05/12/1908 sailing from Naples.

Any help you can give me will be much appreciated.

Age is way off....person of interest was 24 in 1908, this person is 21 in 1917/1918...........UNLESS there is a mistake in age, and we have seen this a time or two.....

buon gornto wldspirit:), thanks for the info, i note that salvatore ridente is listed as his friend but on the image link you sent, i think he is listed as his brother in law?...i think my grandfather had a sister who came to the usa before he did, would be interested in that angle. I am not sure how to start a new thread?, thank you sincerely, Nastygunz

I started a new thread for you here:

http://italiangenealogy.tardio.com/Foru ... html#50514

just click on the link or from the home page, look to the right at the ten most recent topics......you can also access the thread from the top of the page at community forums, then Italian Genealogy.

I am looking for records of Rocco Schiavone. According to naturalization papers, he arrived in Boston, June 15, 1916, on the SS Canopic. According to Ellis Island.org, the Canopic didn't sail in 1916. Any direction will be appreciated. Thanks
