Help Translating Marriage and Death Certificates

Post by taxi55 »

Hello. Is someone able to confirm dates/names on these Certificates please? I attached the Marriage and Death certificates of Catarina Pizzo (sp?) to help (but both are water damaged and not clear. Her birth certificate is even worse so I did not attach.)

I am especially having trouble determining Catarina’s mother’s last name.

Nicola Rienzi and Catarina Pizzo Marriage Certificate:

https://antenati.cultura.gov.it/ark:/12 ... v9?lang=en

Catarina Pizzo Death Certificate:

https://antenati.cultura.gov.it/ark:/12 ... WD?lang=en

Thanks in advance.

Caterina's mother's surname on the marriage is Pasciucco

The date of marriage is 29 April 1837 (#15)

Death date 29 July 1842

Thanks again T, you’re the best!

Is the correct spelling “Caterina”? And “Pizzo”

Also, are you able to determine if her parents were still living at the time of her marriage and her death (so I can better estimate which records to look at for the parents.)

Catarina. - no "e"
Pizzo is correct.

Both parents were living in Stigliano at the time of the marriage and gave their consent as Catarina was of age 16.

When Catarina died she was listed as age 23(?) and both parents were living.

Thanks T. The clarification and additional information will be very helpful when I search for her parents death certificates. (Back to the records!)

I looked at her birth act ( you said you have it) and her father was age 40. Mother's age was very faded, but could be 28 or 38.

So father was about 56 at her marriage and 61 at her death.

Thanks T! I was able to find Catarina’s parents death records thanks to all the information you provided!

Apollonia Pasciucco Death record:
https://antenati.cultura.gov.it/ark:/12 ... oW?lang=en
Father: Ruggiero
Mother: Catarina (Is there a reason why a last name is sometimes not provided?)
Apollonia: Does it say that she was 85 when she died?
Is there anything else of interest on the record?

Giuseppe Pizzo Death record:
https://antenati.cultura.gov.it/ark:/12 ... MZ?lang=en
Father: Nicola
Mother: Maddalena??? (Is this correct?) and no last name?
Was his age 85 at the time of his death or is it saying something else?
Is there anything else of interest on the record?

Catarina Nicolia Marriage record:
I found this record while searching for a different record but noticed the name “Ruggiero Pasciucco” on it.
https://antenati.cultura.gov.it/ark:/12 ... 69?lang=en

Could this be the same “Catarina” that was on Apollonia’s death record? Possible mother?

What does it say about Ruggiero please.

I’m trying to also determine ages and if this is a second marriage, and if there is anything else of interest on this record.

Any assistance is appreciated! Thank you.

Apollonia Pasciucco Death record:
https://antenati.cultura.gov.it/ark:/12 ... oW?lang=en
Father: Ruggiero (deceased, of course)
Mother: Catarina (Is there a reason why a last name is sometimes not provided?) Yes, when the person(s) reporting the death do not know it. After all, the deceased was age 85!
Apollonia: Does it say that she was 85 when she died? Yes
Is there anything else of interest on the record? Death on 7 May at midnight

Giuseppe Pizzo Death record:
https://antenati.cultura.gov.it/ark:/12 ... MZ?lang=en
Father: Nicola
Mother: Maddalena??? (Is this correct?) and no last name? Yes and yes
Was his age 85 at the time of his death or is it saying something else? 80
Is there anything else of interest on the record?

Catarina was Married before to Ruggiero Pasciucco. The spouse was also married before...so widow and widower.

I’m trying to also determine ages and if this is a second marriage, and if there is anything else of interest on this record. Catarina was 43 at this marriage

Any assistance is appreciated! Thank you.
You might look for a death act prior to this marriage for Ruggiero. Also might be in the processetti/allegati (attachments)

Thanks T! Sad that even if someone was 85, that no one knew her full name.

I had looked at death acts for Ruggiero prior to Catarina’s second marriage but the Antenati only goes back to 1807 for Stigliano death acts, and I didn’t find him in those years.

On Catarina’s marriage, would you please confirm the name of her second husband and his age, (Giuseppe Digilio?);
his 1st wife’s name;

If Catarina’s parents names (and Giuseppe’s parents names) are on the record and where they were born/lived, please provide them.

his 1st wife’s name; Anna Cirone
