birth registration dates, pls.

Post by dmt1955 »

2nd set of eyes needed, please...there are 3 acts that are late birth registrations. the same father, Federico Capoone, mother is not named. i am asking for what you see as the dates of birth ... if assumed it is the same female for all 3 kids, then something's wrong in the dates of 162 & 163.

acts 161 & 162 - https://antenati.cultura.gov.it/.../an_ua418307/LovZd7j
act 163 - https://antenati.cultura.gov.it/.../an_ua418307/Laj6B4b

Irpina #161 - i see 10 nov 1880
Partenia #162 - 12 Apr 1885
Corso #163 10 sep 1885

thanks so much
Donna

Sorry, Donna. Had to run out with my husband.

You’ve read the dates in the records correctly. The declarant and place of the births are all the same. Either the last birth was from a different woman or, if the same woman, possibly the year of birth reported is incorrect. I’m wondering if the declarant made an honest mistake in declaring the year of birth during the late registration of the births, or if the mistake was made by the tribunal which authorized the late registrations and provided the declarant with copies of the court’s sentence.

Hello,

Do you know the reason why these declarations of birth were made so late?

Are you already aware of the fact that Federico got married in Naples in 1874 with Emilia Capone?

Farassino,

I have created a database and am transcribing the records of Altavilla. [https://altavillairpinagenealogy.weebly.com/]

I am aware of his marriage to Emilia Capone, as it is in 1874 marriage registration book.

The only information I have is what is written in the registry books. However, reasons for late registrations probably have to do with the following marriage acts -

22 Apr 1902 act #P.II.2, Italia Capone, age 22, born in Arpaise, daughter of Federico and Filomena Paolucci, married Carlo Buzio, age 35, in Rome.

18 Dec 1904 act #P.II.3 Liria Capone, age 23, daughter of Federico and unnamed mother, marries Domenico Galletti, age 36.

5 Jun 1909 act #II.B.7 Irpina Capone, age 28, daughter of Federico and unnamed mother, marries Americo Romano.

There is an 1874 birth (163) of Maria Clotilde Irene Capone, born to Federico and Emilia Capone;
and 1881 birth of Sparacto born in Livorno to Federico and Florina Ferracciuolo.

I have not transcribed all the death records for Altavilla, so I have no information if/when/where Emilia died.

Any thoughts?

Hello Donna,

Congratulations, you’re doing a really great job.

Emilia Capone died only a few days after giving birth to Maria Clotilde on 14th November 1874. #102

I am not sure if Capone is a person of interest .... thought I would pass this along...

1891 birth registry acts #P.II.1 - act of recognition by Federico Capone.....lists 8 children he as his. acts 2-3 are a set of twin mentioned in act 1.

let me know if you would like the names and dates that I found thru back tracking.

certainly was a busy guy...

Thanks Donna for your kind thoughts but this person is of no interest to me genealogically but nevertheless he was a very interesting and busy guy, as you say.

I was only trying to back trace and understand why he had so many children with different women. It’s an interesting story.
Sadly, some of his life must not have been full of happiness.

Ciao ciao
Kind regards
