Translation of last 2 lines of Italian Xmas Poem

Post by Ljaconetta »

Hello Friends,
My father learned this poem for christmas from his grandmother. I tried translating it through google and the last 2 lines seem very awkward to me.Can anyone help?

V'amate, e in Cielo con me verrete."

The last two lines are translated: To say to the humble: "With me divided there will be the joy of Paradise"
With me divided?? is what I'm finding awkward. The rest of the translation makes sense.
Thank you in advance!!!

It should read like this:
To say to the humble: "Shared with me will be the joy of Paradise."

In my opinion, the meaning is:
"because of me, you will share the joy of Paradise"

I've found the author:

Giuseppe "Pippo" Moccaldi
