In the Corleone marriage index from 1850 (this index is with the Corleone marriages from 1832 to 1856. This index for 1850 forward starts with image 281 of 443. There is listed Joseph Oliver who married Maria Vintaloro, folio 249. However, you need to go to Corleone marriages from 1846 to 1871 to view the record, which is on image 18 of 356-the last record on the lower right. That marriage took place Sept 21, 1856. Her father is listed as Ciro (Vintaloro) deceased and mother as living Maria Marsilosi (?). I don’t think this jives with your previous info though. Plus I don’t see anywhere in the record the marital status of either the groom or bride. Doesn’t say they never before married or widowed.

When you replied to Livio’s translation above in this thread, you stated that Ciro Salemi was born in 1757 and died in 1826. Now, in your response to me above, you’re saying he died in 1757 ???

I believe you misunderstood when Livio translated the 1886 marriage record for you (which is above on this thread). Maria Vintaloro wasn’t the widow of deceased Antonio Lanza. Her daughter Giuseppa Oliveri was his widow. I found the daughter’s marriage to Antonio Lanza.
Corleone marriages 1872 to 1887. Date of marriage Nov 25, 1880 (folio 417, image 264 of 535, top left).
Groom: Antonio Lanza, son of deceased Francesco Lanza and living Maria Ficarotta. They were a married couple of this town, when Francesco was alive.
Bride: Giuseppa Oliveri, daughter of Giuseppe Oliveri and Maria Vintaloro, a married couple of this town.

Maria Vintaloro, widow of Ciro Salemi, daughter of Leoluca Vintaloro and Angela Crescimanna (the surname of Angela in this death record looks more like Ciancimino to me, which also exists in Corleone) died on October 14, 1874 at age 78. Corleone deaths 1873-88, folio 93).
If Maria remarried after Ciro Salemi died, then I think that spouse, and not Ciro Salemi, would have been named in her death record. Personally,I don’t think she remarried. We already know that the Maria Vintaloro who married Giuseppe Oliveri, on Sept 21, 1856, had different parents.

Re: maria vintaloro josephi oliveri
sorry he died in 1857
Thanks for looking
having multiple people named the same is challenging
afterwards she would have been too old
i wonder if her marriage to Ciro mentions if it was their first marriage.
i will look at all you provided.
best

Ciro Salemi was married to Domenica Oliveri first. The year of his marriage to her was previously translated by other volunteers on this forum as 1829, but the year was 1819. At the time of this marriage, neither he nor Domenica had been married before. Date Nov 27, 1819, folio 206, image 460 of 592.
Ciro Salemi was the widower of Domenica Oliveri at the time he married Maria Vintaloro. Maria had never before been married. Date: Nov 26, 1826. folio 321, image 519 of 592. The only issue is with her mother’s first name given as Lucia and not Angela in this marriage record. So this Maria Vintaloro only had one marriage-to Ciro Salemi.

Re: maria vintaloro josephi oliveri
I have reason to believe that Lucia born dec 12 1765 died April 7 1839 was the child of Caterina Di Fulco died October 12 1757 possibly born about 1727and Caterina's mom's has father of Bernardo Di Fulco and Angela Sailla or Stella or Silla. Caterina later married Giuseppe Crescimanna Jan 31 1757 which seems to make logic sense to me. but of course it is confusing that i show Caterina Stella married to Giuseppe Crecimanna. I have Angela crescimanna and born about 1772 and died about 1804. although i am not having all the records to attach to verify truth from fiction. lol all in corleone.
Thanks for alerting me to come back and read this again
i do have ciro married first to Domenica Oliveri with 1819 which was corrected at some point from an answer prior i believe
Lucia has 3 children
Caterina who married Nicolo Gagliano oct 18 1813 with a child Biagio born about 1832
although i have not placed antonia Gagliano -- not sure if sibling or child
Maria
Rosalia born August 17, 1800
Caterina has a sister Pasqua born about 1742 corleone
who married April 19 1762 Stefano Lo Cascio he died September 22 1786'
Bernardo Di fulco 's parents are Domenico and Vincenza- don't have her maiden name
Sorry i know a lot of rambling.
i need to find the records to attach to verify the above is true lol
Thanks so much for your hard work
you are like extended family.
Best,
Linda

You have really digressed on this thread with your last reply above. Now I see it’s related to the marriage record posted by Mary that I translated earlier. Angela’s surname in that marriage index looks like Stilla, but not so much in the record itself.
Anyway, back to the stuff on Maria Vintaloro and Ciro Salemi. I found a death record for his former wife Domenica Oliveri. Also her parents’ marriage record. The reason I looked for the latter is because of two errors in Dominica’s death record. If you need them, I’ll post the info when I get a chance; if not, I won’t waste my time typing the info from them.
As to me being like extended family, at the rate you and Mary are going with these church records, a connection between us wouldn’t surprise me. I do have Sicilian ancestry on my mom’s side, and my husband on his dad’s side, but none from the towns in which you and Mary are currently researching.
Anyway, I have a busy day and weekend ahead. Hope you have a good day and weekend too.

Re: maria vintaloro josephi oliveri
All I can do for now. Have to run.
1. Marriage of Gioacchino (Joachim in Latin) Oliveri and Cira Mannina-date Jan 27, 1788 in Corleone, image 118 to 328, folio 132
The groom was the son of Rosario Oliveri and Anna Maria Coniglio
The bride was the daughter of deceased Vincenzo Mannina and Giuseppa Giunta.
https://www.familysearch.org/ark:/61903 ... g=en&i=117
2. Death record of Domenica Oliveri, first wife of Ciro Salemi. Domenica died at age 28 on Sept 16, 1826 in Corleone. This is only a little over 2 months before the widowed Ciro Salemi’s remarriage to Maria Vintaloro. There are two issues with this death record. First of all, Ciro’s first name in the record looks like Viti. Secondly, Cira’s surname is given as Giunta and not Mannina. However, Giunta was the surname of Cira’s mother, Giuseppa Giunta, as noted above. (image 316 of 464, folio 348)

3. Baptism of Domenica Oliveri (her surname appears in the index and record as Liveri, missing the letter O at the beginning. Date May 14, 1799. Corleone baptisms 1791 to 1801, image 344 of 472 (folio 132, top left). Her parents’ names in the record were Joachim and Cira Liveri and Mannina.
