Should be Stefano. My iPad has a mind of its own!
Re: Latin church marriage record
Here is the civil marriage registration...
Dated 26 September 1872 in Santo Stefano (#30)
The groom's surname appears to be Cammarata, which may be why you could not find the record.
He was age 28, the son of deceased Pietro and of [living] Maddalena Gaetani
Giuseppa Albano was age 24, the daughter of Vitale and of Pasquala(?) Gaetani

Re: Latin church marriage record
Yes, as T found in the civil record, the correct surname was Cammarata which was found in the town. Also, the bride’s father was Vitale.
However, I just checked the church record again, and it is dated the 22nd, the same date as the document above it. The date in the document above it seems very clear to me. Also the dates of the banns in the record are the 1st, 8th, and 15th.
The civil record does say that Alfonso was a widower, but the name of his deceased wife is not given. I found her death record. Dated May 22, 1872, record #57, folio 151 recto (right page, bottom record), image 145. Her name in the record is Rosalia Lazzara, wife of Alfonso Cammarata. Her age looks like 24 to me.

Thank you both!
Re: Latin church marriage record
Actually, I think I made a mistake. On the very next page, I believe is the Alfonso Lodato I am searching for.
This is the index I have been using: https://docs.google.com/spreadsheets/d/ ... =708394994
Alfonso Lodato is listed as being on folio 177, but I think his record might be on the back of 177 (folio 178 / file _183).
