Finding a certificate

Post by MariaStringer »

In my early days of research, I found a birth certificate/registration for Susanna Valente, born 21 october 1908 in Molfetta to Angelantonio Valente and Rosa Modugno.

I took a screen shot of the registration and it is on a page that says "Atti Di Nascita" number 1380.

I cannot locate this original source again and unfortunately I cannot attach the photo to this forum.

Can anyone help me in finding this certificate/registration again, please.

Thank you
Maria

Birth #1380 in Molfetta
On 28 October 1908, Angelantonio Valente announced that his wife Rosa Modugno, a housewife, had given birth to a baby girl on 26 October 1908 at 29 Via Pergola, and that he had named her Susanna.

The people helping on this site are fantastic!

I am hoping someone can help me find a death date/certificate for my great grandfather.

Angelantonio Valente born 26 Apr 1862 in Molfetta, Bari, Puglia, Italy.
His father was Mauro Valente, his mother was Lucrezia Cappelutti.
His wife was Rosa Modugno.

Our family has a story that says he came to Western Australia in 1911 with his son Mauro Valente.
He arranged for Mauro to join other Italian families to start his occupation as a fisherman, Angelantonio then returned to Italy to make arrangements to come back to Australia with his wife and daughters but unfortunately died on his return, leaving Mauro (my grandfather) alone in Australia.

I am thinking his date of death could be from 1911 onwards. I cannot find any information to verify this story.

Can anyone help me?

Thank you

Angelantonio Valente's birth certificate does NOT state his date of death; it only records the date of his marriage to Rosa Modugno (7 December 1890).

Thank you for checking.
Are there any other sites I can research through?
I currently use Ancestry, Family Search and antenati.cultura.gov.it.

Are there any plans or thoughts on releasing more recent certificates in the future?

My research has come to a halt as I have exhausted all my avenues.

Cheers, Maria

You may have already seen and tried to get info from one of these:

https://www.familysearch.org/en/wiki/Au ... mmigration

https://recordsearch.naa.gov.au

https://www.library.gov.au/research/fam ... WGEALw_wcB

https://www.wa.gov.au/organisation/stat ... mmigration

Have you tried contacting the town of Molfetta directly to try to get info about Angelantonio’s death date? Or a specific date he returned to the town?

Thank you for your replies.
I have looked at the above sites and I have emailed the town of Molfetta site.
Hopefully, something will eventually be uncovered.

Once again, thank you everyone for the work and help you do on this forum.
