Looking for info about a Staffieri

Post by Bookworm »

Hello, I'm looking for possible information about my Grandfather, John Staffieri. I've never met him and I'm pretty sure that he is not alive anymore. But I'd like to know about him. As far as I know he was in his 30s or 40s when he met my grandmother in Philadelphia, PA. She was I think 18 at the time. The year was 1950. They never married, but had a child out of wedlock (my father). He then left them both. My father tried to contact him in the mid 70s in Philadelphia by phone, but he spoke to a Leo Staffieri instead who denied any relation with John. But Leo did tell my dad that John went to California and was residing there at the time.

I'd only like to know what my Grandfather was like, who he was. And if anyone might know at all, what part of Sicily did he or his parents come from.

Thank you.

There are a couple of Jon Staffieri listed...but we need more info. What was your grandmothers name? What was your Dad's name and his year of birth? This could help.

I'm a Staffieri as well! I was born in 1962 in Philadelphia. My father is John P. Staffieri. His parents are Dominic and Mary, from Foggia. Not sure how we are all related, but I'm pretty sure we are!

Thank you so much for the replys. I really am so grateful for the information you've given me. The only one that looks the most probable would be the John Staffieri born in 1914.

You wanted to know my Grandmother's name; her name was Regina Samborski, I'm not sure how to spell that but I think that's it. My father's name is Anthony and he was born in late 1950.

I only wanted to scratch the surface when I posted my first message, now that I'm finding out things are there possibly any photos of this John Staffieri? This is not a necessity, of course. So if there is no image of him, I don't mind.

Grazi.

It looks very probable. That's amazing, where did you find this census?

By the way, I don't mean to be a pest, but is there any more information about this John Staffieri?

Possible death ifo from SS Death Index.

John Staffieri 3 Oct 1914 6 Aug 1998 Henderson, Clark, Nevada

Also this one.

John Staffieri 3 Jan 1895 Sep 1975 Philadelphia, Philadelphia, Pennsylvania

There also appears to be a WWII draft card for the 2nd John listed above & a WWII Army Enlistment Record for the 1st one.

Sorry, Imageshack is a pain tonite, so I'm sure someone will provide info & the links to them.

Have you been able to confirm that this (1930 cenusu, John Stafferi, age 50 IT & John jr., age 17 PA) is the correct family??

Hello,

Yes, I've just recently confirmed that the John Staffieri in the 1930 census is indeed my Grandfather. Thank you for asking :)
