Re: 1930 census stumper
Hi here is a social Sec Death index on him.
Name: William Truglio
Birth: 19 Nov 1920
Death: Nov 1986 - Staten Island, Richmond, New York, United States of America
Civil: New York
Found on Ancestry.com..
Could this be him???
If it is you can go to SSA.com and request a copy of his application for a SSN Card that will have his parents names on it. I just did this for my fathers.

Hi, DVaccaro.
Have you looked on the Ellis Island site for arrivals. Under the name Lo Truglio there are 3 Vito's (one is too old) but most of the other Lo Truglios on the same pages originated from San Ninfa. Also, so you might be able to match up at least one of the other Lo Truglios arriving on the same ship, as his father.
I know you are looking for the 1930 census, but the Ellis Island site is a start and might give you the right lead.
Seraphina.

believe me, i have done all this. i have worn out the search button on Ellis Island.
the background (short version): William Truglio is supposed to be a nephew of my step-great-great-grandmother, Francesca Truglio Catalano. i was told that his father may have been named Vito. i believe i have found all of Francesca's brothers in the birth records of Santa Ninfa, and there does not appear to be a Vito. additionally, due to ages of those involved, i am starting to think that Willie was a great-nephew of Francesca. it is at least a possibility.
i have a photo of Willie in a military uniform, which led me to think i have found his WWII enlistment, and from there, his SSDI listing. i know he was in Staten Island. i am pretty sure 19 Nov 1920 is my guy.
Willie Truglio married Rose Micciche, and his sister, Catherine Truglio, married Rose's brother, Joseph Micciche. each couple had two daughters.
this is all i know.
i am hung up on the 1930 census because he should be there. he should be there ready to solve my problems!
thank you all for the suggestions...

Re: 1930 census stumper
Curiously, my name is William Truglio, though I was born in 1964. My father (also William Truglio) was born in Brooklyn NY in 1933. His father, my grandfather, also William Truglio (yep, I'm the 3rd), had a nickname of Willie, was probably born before 1920, but I did have an Uncle Vito who was likely his brother.
I'll ask the chroniclers of the family (my sister and aunt) to see if they have more accurate records if you think it's relevant.
