Hi,
I am looking for some info on a Minia Rebecchini who married a seaman from the USA (Maine) named Henry or Joseph Pierce in 1869-1870. They had four children in the states. Three of them Frederick, Lillie, and Joseph. Minia's father supposedly played the organ in St Peter's square in Italy. She was born in 1854 and died in 1919 in NYC. Thanks.

Thank you all so much for your input. I am familiar with all of the info except the info on Joseph Rebechine from pink67. Any ideas on how I can obtain a marriage certificate or something on Henry/Joseph Pierce and Minia.? I have a feeling he was on a sea run and met her in Italy and poosibly brought her back on his own ship? Is that possible? and not go through immigration etc?

Joseph Raniero Pierce is a very Strong coincidence. I have a SSDI that said he died in Norristown, mongomery,PA in the 1960's. Minia's son Fred was born in Boston but I have no record of his birth as of yet. Thanks.

Thanks. I am not sure if Minia had siblings. I just found her obit in the NY times two days ago. It mentioned her daughter but not her siblings or husband.

you can find there the news of the death of Rainero Rebecchini on december 1878.
He was unmarried, he was living on Lexington aenue with his two sisters. He was the son of Serafino Rebecchini (a very well known teacher of vocal music and organist) native of Ancona, Italy.
His uncles on his mother's side were noted as artist and cornet players..
The newspaper says that he arrived to the US with his father on 1850, so the arrival manifest of S. Rebecchini and R. Rebecchini was for him (Raniero) and his father (Serafino).
If these persons were related to Minia they were coming from Ancona - Marche region.

That newspaper article is incredible! The three children of Minia and Henry/Joseph. (I have come to believe that his name is Joseph Henry Pierce) are:

Frederick J Born October 3 1870 Boston Mass ( my G grandfather)
Lillie Pierce Born 1873 NYC Married Joe Debona ( I have a lot of info on Debona side)
Joseph R Pierce- Born August 10 1880 NYC ( I have a few draft registration cards and census records on him as well.)
