Document/apostille question

Post by liltally »

Hi everyone the answer to my question may be right in front of me but after reading most of these messages I'm still at ablank.
Do the certificates have to be translated before you get the apostille.

No. The apostilles are in English as well. You might want to make a copy of the document so that when you send it off for its apostille, you can continue working on the translation.

I hear this may depend on your consulate...of all my generations of documents, only my fathers divorce needed translation and apostille, while everything else just got apostille'd...no translation.

I think we interpreted the question differently. I thought she was asking is translations needed apostilles. You thought she asked if all documents need translations. Now we've answered both questions. :D
