translation of census

Over 25 million Italians have emigrated between 1861 and 1960 with a migration boom between 1871 and 1915 when over 13,5 million emigrants left the country for European and overseas destinations.

translation of census

Post by corrado »

I am wainting on my appointment with the consulate, and having things translated. I have a certificate of non-existance. The census report- which is just a copy of the page from the 1930 census shows them supposebly as us citizens. This does not back up my claim anyway.

My question is does this need to be translated? Will I even need this?
I heard my grandfather say the they bought thier papers from the alderman for $10. A good chicago way of doing things, but totaly not legal.
They either thougth they were legal, or didn't care.

Most consulates do not want to see the census documents. I'm not certain if Chicago is among them.

In any case, since the census does not back up your claim, it would not be in your best interests to present it to the consulate.
