Re: translation help
Is there no way to make the image clearer?
If the microfilm is not clear, then you should write directly to the comune for a copy.

Re: translation help
I may go back in the morning to check - If nothing else maybe I will be able to pick out some information if it is front of me. And I can look at the records before and after to figure out the birth date..
If it isn't any better I will write to the comune.
In the meantime I will look through the film some more - it starts in 1866 so if she had a sibling it will be there.
I am happy for now - If I had recognized that marriage info earlier, I would have been disappointed because we couldn't read the record.... As it happened, I didn't even think I found her birth record so I was happy to realize that I did!

These are better copies of the birth record. What day was she born? It seems that her mother passed away soon afterwards, if not during birth.
Thanks!

Re: translation help
This Teresa was born on 6 February 1883 to
Celeste Paolini, wife of Gaetano di Loreto.
And I can see from your posted death record that Celeste Paolini died on 25 February 1883.

Yes, more sad news =(
Re: translation help
When a mother passed away so soon after a birth, what happened to the child? Did a cousin / aunt / etc help with feeding the child? Would the father even keep the child?
There has always been talk about Teresa being raised in a convent - would he have given her to the church to raise?

For some expert opinions you might want to post this as a new topic...

Re: translation help
I did. Thank you.
I didn't offer the convent scenario, hoping to get a variety of thoughts.
