A couple of clues on the 1913 manifest that mj :D found for Angela

- possible naturalization notation: 23-114585 6/10/42 (23=Los Angeles)
guide to notations: http://www.jewishgen.org/infofiles/manifests/occ/
- leaving father Giuseppe in Marsala
- joining uncle Agostino Agate at 194 Vermont Street Brooklyn

There was a Detained page for Angela Licari on a different website (ancestry. com, subscription)

http://a.imageshack.us/img714/7236/1913j.jpg
SS America, 11 Nov 1913, Palermo to NY

To uncle (being held for release to her uncle)
Released 11 Nov at 3:55 P to her Aunt Francesca Salena (probably Salerno - maiden name), 194 Vermont Street Brooklyn

Hi VJ and MJ

Here is an update for you. Yes Angela came to the states to meet her uncle and aunt. And yes her father's name was was Giuseppe. Salvatore and Angela were not married prior to coming to the states. So it looks like we have found the right documentation on both of my g-grandparents. My grandfather said he can not remember the uncles name that she went to stay with, and back in those times they did not discuss things with children like they do now. He does however remember a uncle Jack Licari so I am going to see if I can find anything on him. Thank you both for all the valuable help and leads you have given to me!!

Hi Valarie,

If it would not be too much trouble could you run Jack Licari's name through anything you have. He was most likely born in Italy the 1880's I do not have exact dates. I can tell you he did end up moving to Los Angeles California and was married to Jenny. He did die in California I do know this for a fact because as a child I used to go see him and Aunt Jenny, but I cant seem to find anything on him.

Welcome to the forum!
We can help direct you on how to find records in Italy if you know the comune (town) where your g-grandparents were born.
If it's not on your g-grandfather's ship manifest, it may be on one of his US records.
Do you need help locating any US records?
Thank you,
Valarie

Thank you for responding so quickly. That is the same record I have as well from Ellis Island. It was very hard for me to read alot of the info on there. I have never heard anything about Kansas City before. Maybe you could tell me how to look up his US records and I can go from there. The annotations on the Ellis Island record names the 5 children they had together but they have mispelled my g-grandmothers name. So now I am not sure if that is the right ship manifest. I do know they lived in Palermo. Any ideas on where to search next?

Jack Licari??

Interesting, this Gioacchino Licari (abt 1898) & his sister Bartolomea (abt 1891) joining Salvatore Fasone (brother-in-law) in Chicago in 1921, leaving father Giuseppe in Marsala

Thank you suanj! :D
I thought we may be looking for a 'Giovanni'
If wife Jennie was born in 1915, they may not be together on the 1930 census.
Interesting first name for Gioacchino's sister, maybe she can be found after 1921?

Hi Valarie and Suanj!

You guys are great! In the beginning I was thinking the first manifest for Salvatore in 1900 might be wrong. Thank you for the new direction to investigate. I can tell you for sure the guiseppe and Joseph fasone birth records are 100% for sure my 2 great uncle's. Of course I never met the one that died at 5 months old but the other one we used to go to his house all the time so I know these ones are right. I will let you guys know what I come up with. Thanks so much!!!
