Will I have to have the marriage record of my great grandfather and nuna? I am not sure that they ever married... if they did, it was in Italy.

My mother just said that she remembers the name giuseppe from a story Uncle Tony told years ago. So perhaps that is the manifest Marty.

Here is the manifest that Marty found. I don't know if it is the correct one. Name on Ellis Island says Froil.

And my next question is... will this be enough to prove citizenship? You are all somewhat experts... I don't see the home town on the manifest.

Hi, I know abt the ship's manifest trascribed as Giuseppe Frail.. the ship's manifest is no much readable and Frail surname exist not in Italy... so better to find the censuses 1920 and 1910 and as a well some children births so we can understand better the original italian surname....
just my suggestion,

Rocky,

Aren't they awesome. The people here are so helpful and so nice.
I lived in WV for awhile, Boone County.

Are you trying to become a citizen or prove they were? I found naturlization papers on ancestry for my ggf, etc.

more clues?
- Original given name may have been Domenico, could have gone by nickname 'Joe'
- In Randolph County, WV in 1920
- Naturalization record should have 'AKA' name he traveled under to US,
possibly naturalized in Randolph county abt 1918, paperwork will also have ship & birth location
- 1910 census should be in WV
