You are correct about Pietro's 1875 birth record. The allegati for his marriage to Chiara shows he was born in 1879 and not 1875. Date of Birth Nov 29, 1879. Good catch, T.

Hi Erudita,
Just clarifying for the poster... :-)

As to the father's name, I am thinking it is one and the same person. Nicola, Nicolantonio, Antonio :-)

Of course, forestmaiden originally posted Nicola Donato and that was the name you found on the 1871 marriage record. Very puzzling.

Here's a link to Rosa's Jan 18, 1902 marriage act (record #5). If you go back one image to record #4, you have Pietro's marriage to Chiara on the same date, with the same parents listed-Nicola Ungari and Margherita del Re. No addresses in the records though, which is unfortunate, but I think this gives more credence to them being brother and sister.

So much information! Thanks you two! Is Nicola often a nickname for Nicolantonio? As my Nicola (or Nicolantonio)'s grandfather was also Nicola. So I figured he was named after him.
Anyway, thanks again! This is so very much appreciated!

Sorry, one last question - does it say who the parents of Rosa's husband -Michele Cimmarusti were? Cimmarusti is also a family name so I'm curious...

Take note that the groom was illiterate and did not sign at the bottom, but the bride was not and did.

This link is to the marriage publication for Raffaele's marriage to Rosa Mininni. In the handwritten section at the bottom is the name of his deceased wife and her date of death. I can't find her death record though with the 1921 Valenzano death records.

https://familysearch.org/ark:/61903/3:1 ... cc=2043445

Chiarantonia Patruno, wife of Raffaele Ungari, died on July 23, 1921.

Here's Chiarantonia's birth record from the town of Turi. Born Nov 25, 1881. I was hoping there would be a notation concerning her marriage to Raffaele Ungari in the margin of the record, but no such luck.
